Toyota Camry is the symbol of the company's success almost lifelong and one of the most accessible representatives of the segment E. It is a great option for those who wish to join the “business”, but does not have funds to purchase German classmates. It is also believed that its name is associated with the reliability and the absence of problems. Does this latest generation of Camry answer the description? One of the components of success - motors, which were seriously changed for the last generation of Camry. From the previous model the current got only one engine - a 3.5-liter V6 2GR-FE. But with the corrected power: now instead of 277 hp it has 249 hp and 346 Nm. By virtue of the exclusion of Avensis from sales, Camry has received a two-liter 1AZ-FE (148 hp and 190 Nm). Instead of base 2AZ-FE there is 2.5-liter 2AR-FE (181 hp and 231 nm), known in the US since 2009.
Camry has three engines, and three automatic transmission models (“mechanics” is not available). 2AR-FE runs with newest gearing system - U760E. Two-liter engine has 4-speed U241E, 2AR is equipped with a 6-speed U760E. U660E is also six stepped.
Suspension - McPherson front and rear - hardy at least during the same period that the engine and transmission are. Rare McPherson suspension is secure, engine protection on the bottom is plastic, and aluminum sheet is in the accessories list.
Exterior and Interior
Surprisingly, the exterior can increase or, conversely, mask the size of the car. Seeming quite compact, the new Camry is larger than its predecessor: length by 10 mm and width by 5 mm. These are little things, but with a certain angle the current sedan, especially against former puffy shapes, looks like a representative of the class D. The design of the back conceals the true size of Camry.
External visual effect is reinforced by spacious cabin. Here, the new Camry surpasses the previous model in all respects. The capacity of the cargo hold at Camry is not worse than the competitor’s. The boot capacity is 506 liters, 30 liters less than in the previous Camry. The ranges of the driver's seat adjustments are impressive. The quality of materials and panels is good.
The current Camry is different not only by a variety of engines, but is also offered with 8 trim levels.
In the initial configuration there is already a dual-zone climate control, but only from the second level (Standard Plus) the car has 6-inch display. And in case of standard - the usual narrow screen.
Standard model has parking sensors, full-size “spare tire”, heated front seats, folding sofa back, dual-zone climate control, stabilization system and six airbags, including side window curtains.
Standard Plus has additional cruise control, rain sensor, shading of salon mirror, a rearview camera and 6-inch display on the console.
Classic - virtually the same, but with leather interior and Power Adjustable Seats.
Comfort - the first level of equipment with which you can choose the 2.5-liter Camry. This is Classic with headlamp washers and minus leather, electric seats, camera and cruise control.
Elegance, in essence, is the same as Classic, but with a motor of 2.5 liters.
Elegance Plus Camry gets xenon and 17-inch alloy wheels instead of the 16's.
Prestige – is a top range, with possible engine 2AR. There is a separate electric rear sofa and heating, three-zone climate, camera with parking tip, 7-inch display, navigation, control of music and climate from the back seat and JBL sound system with 10 speakers.
Lux is the only one with which you can buy a six-cylinder Camry. In addition you will receive electro powered steering and sun blinds on the rear windows.
